Here comes a rich man turned to a beggerman,

We pick up events shortly after a heated engagement around the sleepy village of Wigtoft wherein a small Parliamentarian force led by Sir John Smeaton rebuffed a Royalist incursion. It is now early September 1642 and the King has formally raised his standard at Nottingham.In effect, we are now in a state of Civil War as Parliament refuses to recognise Royal commands and the King has rejected the 19 Propositions.
